TOP 2020 #9: Back in 2001 GREEN CARNATION's 60 minutes progressive monster "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" impressed me a lot, but all following releases did not stay in my mind. So, I was a bit surprised how strong their comeback "Leaves of Yesteryear" is! The 5-tracker is progressive, somewhere between metal and rock regarding its heaviness and the songs hover between epic complexity ("My dark reflections of life and death") and straight forward and catchy ("Sentinels"). Soulful and dynamic!
Favorite track: Sentinels.
